For the upcoming model year, Mazda is introducing several new vehicles to its lineup. The largest of which is the Mazda CX-90. This midsize SUV seats up to eight passengers and comes outfitted with premium materials and high-tech features. This SUV is poised to be one of Mazda's best vehicles, so let's find out what else this model offers.
Highlights of the CX-90
With a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six engine, the new CX-90 will be the first Mazda model to utilize this new powertrain. Urbandale residents will also find that this engine uses a 48-volt hybrid system allowing the CX-90 to produce 280 horsepower in non-S trims and 340 hp in the S trim. All models will also come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The cabin of the CX-90 is stylish yet practical. While sparse, Ankeny and Altoona drivers find the basic models offer cloth seating, while higher trims have leather upholstery. And the second row can be replaced with a set of captain's chairs, dropping the seating capacity to seven. Other features offered in this model include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a seven-inch digital gauge display, and an eight-speaker stereo system.
All CX-90 models will come with a suite of advanced driver-assist features Mazda calls i-Activsense. This system will feature automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control as standard equipment. Features like front and rear parking sensors, lane centering, and a surround-view camera system are available in higher trims.
