Overcoming Motion Sickness: Simple Tips

Traveling should be fun, but nothing ruins a drive, flight, or ship's voyage than suffering from motion sickness. The nauseous feeling motion sickness brings out can be hard to shake. Thankfully, there are ways to prevent its onset.

Drinking plenty of water and eating a full meal before going on a trip could decrease the chances of feeling ill. So does getting enough rest. Sleeping while traveling is a luxury passengers can enjoy, and it is one that reduces the chances of becoming sick. Taking the over-the-counter drug Dramamine may help, too.

If motion sickness comes over you, concentrating on a point off in the distance. Doing so may affect your brain, which tries to process your illness. The brain, surprisingly, correlates motion sickness with poison. The calming effect of focusing on the horizon could somewhat alleviate the problem. So might getting fresh air and drinking some club soda.

Think about the happier side of traveling. Do so on a test drive in a family-friendly vehicle. We here at Ramsey Mazda can help you out with that.
