New Honda Pilot

Performance Traits

  • Both SUVs come with a lively powertrain, but they differ in gas mileage. The new Mazda CX-9 gets an impressive EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The new Honda Pilot fails to keep up by delivering an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
  • The new Mazda CX-9 not only boasts a powerful and efficient engine, but it also has sporty driving dynamics, which comes from precise steering, strong braking power, and composed handling. The new Honda Pilot isn't nearly as athletic, meaning it's not as fun to drive as the Mazda SUV.

Interior Styling and Tech

  • When you get inside the new Mazda CX-9, you'll be in awe as this cabin is downright beautiful. With premium materials covering the surfaces and a modern, upscale design, you'll have no issue spending time inside this cabin. The Honda Pilot has a more practical cabin that isn't as upscale as its Mazda competitor.
  • The base infotainment system inside the new Honda Pilot isn't that impressive as it only comes with a few basic features and a 5-inch display. The infotainment system in the new Mazda CX-9 is the opposite, showcasing all sorts of desirable features, including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a convenient Wi-Fi hotspot.
